    Default Ferrocium rod striker!

I had an idea that worked very well for me so thought I'd share it. I bought a 6" X 1/2" ferro rod not long ago and have tested strikers mostly knives. Well I tried a peice of heavy steel band strapping the other night and I got to tell you it produces alot more sparks. I will be making up a bunch of these soon!

Keep in mind the problem may be extremely complicated, though the "Fix" is often simple...

Heavy steal band strapping? Where'd you find that? The only place I can think of up here would be at a lumbermill/lumberyard... Seems to be a great way to produce sparks.

I work in steel fabrication plant...It comes holding sheets of steel but really I think it is more the material than it being so heavy.

Ahh, makes sense. The material does make a difference...
