Well RichJ first off I don't drive to my destination when camping and backpacking if you can drive there it most likely has as much trash as the local landfill sad but true these days, I have two trucks an f150 and an f250 both Fords neither is 4 wheel drive but as I have said I do not drive into the woods I prefer to get back on foot. Where 4 wheelers and such do not venture. Something about the peace and serenity of a mud bogging V-8 just is not my cup of tea. Where I venture you won't get to with your best 4 wheel drive. As I spend alot of time in the Cherokee's and the Smokies but my all time favorite place is in the BWCA and you are not even allowed to have a wheeled device, a motor of any kind, no cans no glass. I have the usual survival supplies in there water food tools shelter etc to numerous to mention I just take what I think I may need on a givin trip.

couple questions about your avatar: is that a Falkniven A1? What is the black field with the blue band? I see cars everywhere where I live that have little stickers just like that but never knew what they represented. I always assumed it was a military badge of some sort.

It looks like my cold steel SRK to me.
I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

It is a SRK carbon v which has become my favorite blade along with my Sog Seal pup, background was just from a photo online so do not know what it is. I have a Snugpack Rocket 70 L and a Sleeka 35 L and also a Kelty frame pack a few fanny packs and a belt with just the bare essentials. Depending on what I have planned and how long I plan to go dictates which pack and what things to go in it.
