    Default Knife steel

FYI, I just got a tip from a guy who has been making knives for a long time. He said that there are some John Deere separator disks that are made of 1075 steel. They are about 3/16" thick. They have a hardness of 56 the way they are. They need to have the serial numbers ss0032 and n214190 to make sure they are the ones that are 1075. He said to go to a john Deere place and ask for old separator disks which they just give it to him. I need to go and take a look and see if I can find one these shops around here.
