    Default Lt. Woodie McVay

This has nothing to do with Wilderness Survival but I wanted to share this story with all of you. This article is on the return of a WWII KIA turned MIA's repatriation and burial back in the states.

I've been very privileged to work with Ted Darcy and the WFI Research Group in identifying WWII KIAs, primarily from the 5th Armored Division. Two years ago I also assisted with the identification of two MIAs from Pennsylvania's 28th Infantry Division. Both were killed in the Battle of Hurtgen Forest in Germany during WWII and later found by relic hunters. Both have since been confirmed and repatriated.

I had no role in Lt. McVay's identification but wanted to share with everyone that this work does go on behind the scenes. It's all volunteer and often hugely frustrating because the U.S. government is the single biggest obstacle in identification and repatriation.

    Good Job Ms. Huff...
Thanks Rick for the work that you are doing with Mr. Darcy and WFI. It's a noble thing to find, Identify and return these men to the families they left behind.

Makes you feel good to know that there are still a lot of decent people in the world. People who do the right thing without seeking anything in return.
