    Default How much per Bucket?

I just got some 5 gallon plastic buckets and gamma seal lids. I'm about to buy wheat berries. Does anyone with experience in doing this have an approximate idea how many pounds of wheat berries can fit in one bucket? Thank you...

Also, how much flour do you get from one pound of berries after you mill it?

Trishymouse - I haven't stored wheat berries in 5 gallon buckets, but read that they will hold about 33 pounds.

When you get a chance, head on over to the introduction section and tell us a bit about yourself. Thanks.

    Trishymouse.

You might want to invest in some mylar liners for your buckets as the plastic of the bucket both outgasses and absorbs odors from the outside. The mylar liner is impervious to this thus protecting your investment.

I found this site to be helpful. Shows weight per cubic foot of lots of different things including some foodstuffs. Easy to make a calculation when you know the cubic feet in the container you are wanting to fill.
