Default survival knife from a hacksaw

i saw on a website awhile back an idea for a small knife for a survival kit or otherwise. but its a cheap little thing that you can make from a hacksaw blade. just a little bit of grinder work and its yours!

here's the site i found it on:

Yep - those sure can come in handy. They're also nice to use to scrape a mag bar and use as a striker. Here are some that I've made (the ones with the paracord lanyards). When you get a chance how about cutting your way over to the introduction section and tell us a bit about yourself. Thanks.

Very Nice Would you happen to know of any "bigbox" stores that would carry Mora blades? I am having a time trying to find one. I don't use credit cards, so buying through the internet isn't an option for me.

Not around here. I've checked, plus the gun shows that I frequent and no joy.

Thanks anyways. Well, I copied some photos and other info from the "net" and am in the process of trying to get one of the smaller box stores interested in the product. Do you have any "Herb Phillipson's" in Florida? They are one of the outfitters up here in N.Y.

I have made a few small knives from sawzall blades. They work really well, and you get to keep the saw if you like on the back edge of the knife

    FWIW..

Maybe. CT - does the shop have the S1 (red wooden handle)? If so, I get down to your neck of the woods every now and then.

LB - You might contact any shop that sells them. They would probably take a check. They may hold up shipping the knife until the check clears but I'll bet you can find one that will deal with you.
