    Default Edward Abbey fans

I just read that a movie is supposed to come out this year on the Monkey Wrench Gang. Tentatively(?) featuring Richard Dreyfuss, John Goodman, Jack Nicholson and Matthew McConnaghey (did I spell his name right?)
some fella confronted me the other day and asked "What's your problem?" So I told him, "I don't have a problem I am a problem"

I'd love to see the movie- but man, I can't see any of those guys as the characters of the M.W.G. With this cast who are they going to get for Bonnie- Carmen Electra?
Hollywood would screw up a wet dream.

I was hoping they'd hire me to be Seldom Seen...ha ha

Elizabeth Shue is playing Bonnie! What the heck!!! She's Blonde and like 40 years old! That won't work. And Richard Dryfucs as Seldom Seen- give me a break- I have never seen a Mormon that looks like that. Jack Nicholson is cool, but way to old to be Doc Sarvis. And lastly- Matthew Monkeyhay as Hayduke- that is just blasphemy. I wonder what Doug Peacock (the actual person Hayduke was based off) thinks of that! Matthew is way to tall and good lookin' to be an antihero.
Alright, I'm done I'll crawl back into my cave now

Really? That's nuts, when I saw the cast list I figured MM was Seldom Seen, I don' t think Dreyfuss should be there at all and yeah, Nicholson can play a letch alright but he's too old to be Doc. They should have someone like Jack Black or Kevin Smith (Silent Bob) for Hayduke

Goodman must be Bishop Love right? I could see that at least.

JAck Black or Kevin SMith as Hayduke...man those are good choices. THey defiently look more the part than MM. Jack Black....may be perfect- he'd need to lose a little weight and build up his arms and back some- but by gawd he might be perfect.

and, I was just guessing who would be what...

Goodman will be a perfect Bishop Love. I guess Nicholson could just play the mysterious cowboy towards the end of the book. and Richard could be a short Doc Sarvis.

naw unless they made desert solitare into a flick i think i would stay away, his books are far too well written to be made into movies in my mind i have all the characters pictured i would hate to have that ruined...

The Brave Cowboy was an awesome book, I heard of that movie but I've never seen it, is Kirk Douglas in it?
