Well I have posted a few posts on Single Battery Backup here in the past, and part of what I do here in the office of my house is avoiding running the Generator at first... I try to give the grid guys an opportunity to make it right.... So a trickle charger feeds a deep cycle 12v in the office and when the power goes I move a single power strip from the wall and UPS over to a 300 watt inverter. The router, tv and vios unit are on the same strip... then I add a 125 LED torchiere that lights the room...

This light can tap off the 12 volt and deliver 100w at a 6w capacity and at least light a room with minimum draw.... wow. Perfect for cabins and solar....

Sounds like you have a good setup. I have converted most of the lights in the house and vehicles to LED just to use less power. If I have to go on generator then they make a big difference.

Rick they draw so little you can use a 12v battery deep cycle and light the whole house all night long.... just hook up that solar panel you were playing with.
