    Default Harbour Freight Wool Blankets

Came across these today. $10 per blanket. 80% wool. Not as nice as the Italian ones but very serviceable. If I didn't already have 3 I may have picked some up.

I have a full 100% military blanket and one like you show here on my bed in place of a comforter they retain heat much better and are light weight, guess i'll have to go to the local Harbor Frieght for another 1 or 2 at that price.

Are those the ones that are advertised as "mover's blankets"?

I believe so. They were in the back along with the tarps.

    Are they woven, or felted?

I looked at them the last time I was out there.

They are not the movers blankets, the movers blankets are the quilted/padded blankets to protect furniture from scratches when moving. I have 4 of the movers blankets in camoflage and they actually make nice camp blankets and sleep pads when doubled. Been looking for some of the wool blankets at our local Harbour Freight but they are always sold out.

So anyone bought any yet?....most of the ones I have gotten for Sportsman Guide always smelled like Kerosene.

Have seen the movers blankets....they had the cameo version.....I use them for the back seat in the truck....doggie blanket.

The link says loom woven but all of the blankets I have checked out at HF are felted, not woven.

If they get wet they will fall apart like a Chinese motorcycle.

Which you can also buy at HF!!! LOL

The quilted, padded movers blankets are a different deal. Very well made with a good padding of some unknown material.

Chinese quilts filled with an unknown material.

Now there is one scary thought!

The reason I ask is because I bought some really cheap wool blankets from Sportsmans Guide a while back. They were all felted. I was planning to sew a jacket from them, but you can't do that with a cheap felted blanket. It will fall apart. They work great for a dog blanket, or an extra blanket in the car. I have also used them as padding in my hammock, and I even think my wife used one as insulation for a baby blanket instead of the stuff at Joan's. So, they aren't useless, just have to know the limitations.

Came across this and thought it might answer your question if it could make a jacket.
