Awww, and here I was thinking that the discussion was gonna be about 9 mm vs anything that starts with a .4....and shot placement, hand loads up to and including light speed, and "anything on the planet".

I would imagine there are some very old trappers from around 1830 and a few Native Americans that might dispute that "1st person attacked" theory. Still, it would be just my luck to earn that kind of a title.
As for the wolf having a deformed jaw that was probably due to all the folks prying it's jaw off their heads.

Usually, the "1st person attacked" theories imply first event recorded. Of course, if this wolf had been attacking people prior to this incident, it wouldn't have been any kind of 1st attack recorded because the prior attacks would have been reported. Until about 10 years ago, the usually published statement was that there had been no recorded attack by a healthy wolf in North America. The more recent attacks that have been recorded deal with wolves that people have been feeding and generally getting too chummy with.

Of course, I would be pro-wolf.

It say FIRST in lower 48, we have had several attacks by wolves. They attacked killed and ate a 30 y/o school teacher about two years ago.

See...and follow me on this....there was no DNR in 1830 so they wouldn't know about any back then.
