At first I was going to say "But that's just zombie training! They're trying to break up the same-old routine that they go through every time they train, because that keeps them on their toes." The bleeding female target, I get it, was supposed to be a female zombie. But they screwed up in a huge way by not making it look more dead. Heck, it almost looks like a battered woman might look when she's just been through h3ll at the hands of an abuser. The huge thing these "zombie target" makers need to remember is to never make a target look too human. De-sensitizing yourself to killing is for the military, not for police, and not for other civillians. Police and civillians are supposed to kill at last resort, so having a healthy aversion to it is good, in my book. Only soldiers need to be cold and stony about killing, because it's part of their job. Even then, I think some empathy should still be encouraged in the troops, but that's just personal opinion.

Ken - I have serious questions about the source and validity of that video. I haven't spent the time sourcing it yet, but look at the shoulder fired weapon at 9:39. I doubt this is a training session, but rather a vid staged for the intended purpose of convincing others of something that is not true.

Crash, you may be correct. However, I remember reading, in the last few months, a target manufacturer's website wherein the target manufacturer apologized for selling targets to law enforcement because the targets were designed to condition law enforcement to fire on unarmed civilians. It was a perversion of "Hogan's Alley."

The whole "zombie craze" has caused a lot of people to do things they wouldn't otherwise do. The bleeding target thing is nothing new with this craze. Stupid IMO, but not new.

As to the OP - I'm still looking and haven't seen where the NRA endorsed these targets. I saw that conclusion by the writer though. I have written the NRA and asked for their comment.

Perhaps, but it's a recurring zombie trope: one of the first zombies the protagonist sees is either a family member, a love interest, or an ex-lover, which makes their having to put that zombie down all the more heartbreaking/interesting.

Still a stupid choice though.
