Hello there!
First off, the basics, my name is Jillian. I am originally from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia. (Thats the southern east coast of Canada for those of you from away.)
I currently live in Calgary, Alberta. I work as an apprentice plumber for the time being. I also teach a wilderness survival class on the side. I'm actually very surprised I never came across this site before.
I've been doing bush trips and wilderness survival training ever since I can remember. The island I grew up on is mostly undeveloped land with a gorgeous national park to play in and acres upon acres of wild untouched woodlands just behind my house. I always spent most of my free time outdoors, even in inclement weather, it's where I prefer to be.
Ever since I was very young I have been passionate about learning how to function away from the conveniences of our modern life, I would gobble up any book I could find on Native American heritage or anthropology that described how ancient every day life worked. I would spend my breaks away from class as a kid outdoors on bush trips, hikes and other outdoor activities.
I can pretty much thank my grandparents completely for all my knowledge. They both were very live off the land kind of people.
