Like you, Crash, I've lost a lot of photos. I have so few of mum and dad now and Winnie jnr doesn't take kindly to cameras these days. I keep telling him a memory is personal and he can't pass it on. Most of my photos went up in smoke when my ex had a fit of pique and burned them.

Way cool, guys/gals.....gotta love the old pic's......wish people would write on the back date and who they are......relitives pass away, and no one know about the pictures.

Last year my 98 year old Aunt passed away....these pic's were found in her stuff......I have never seen these till then.
Had them professionally cleaned up the best they could and put on a disc....Then forwarded them to my siblings.

I guess I now know the reason I like log cabins.......burned down before I was born.

Thanks for sharing, and for stirring up my own memories. My father was born in a log cabin in northern Mississippi. Though it burned down before I was old enough to remember anything, he showed me a couple of pictures, and several times he took me to where it once stood. The same is true of the church in the community (also made of logs) and the courthouse (made of sawn wood).

Many people simply don't realize that, in many parts of our great country, the "pioneer days" continued into the 1930's and the first half of the 1940's.
