I want to start by saying thank you to all the people here. My time here on this forum has been very helpful both in survival and in life. My wife and I have been struggling the past 2 years with being newlyweds, living in a new place, having a new baby and everything else. We have been miserable in Alaska and couldn't figure out why so we blamed it on our location. Well we had an epiphany and realized that we hadn't given it a chance. We were terrified about moving somewhere else with the job market and economy the way it is so we decided to extend another 3 years up here. We are still awaiting the approval of that but even if it gets denied we are going to stay here. We still hate the distance, and the winters are very depressing but we have made a life here and don't want to let that go. So again thank you for listening to me whine and complain about my life which in reality is awesome. I have a great family, a great life and live in a place that many only dream of. We just needed to give this place a chance and stop looking at it as a temporary assignment.
