Alright, back in country. Wedding was great and honeymoon was awesome. We loved Dominica and enjoyed everything we did there.... We did quite a few hikes including visiting the 2nd largest boiling lake in the world and the valley of desolation.

Will post pictures once I have time. Getting back used to American food and air condition after not having any for over a week. Felt great not to have a tv, cell phone, computer, etc. for awhile.

I think I caught something and I have been a little ill the past three days, it hasn't been pleasant.

I hope every one is doing well and having a great time. I have missed whats been happening in the world and need to catch up!

I got to know our guide quite well and talked to him quite a bit about what he carries when he goes out into the jungle and the rain forest on Dominica. He said the majority of people carry an old machete and/or a SAK. When he is taking people on trails all he carries is a SAK and says he can do 80-90% of what is needed with it. He said the machete he only needs for when he has to clear a trail, gather fruit/food, or build a shelter. Even then he said the machete just makes it easier to get the fruit and he then uses his SAK to cut it up.

There was so much abundance of food on the island from plantains, bananas, papaya, mango, and on and on. They have nutmeg, ginger, and many other spices and herbs growing as well.

Also note there are no poisonous animals or insects or dangerous animals on the island. Thousands of lizards though. Also fishing is great on this island. I really hope the island stays as it is and does not become overdeveloped.
