    Default Hafting

I want to know if anyone has experience with hafting pecked stone tools.
I pecked a groove around an oval shaped rock, but am having trouble finding
a plant stem that I can wrap around the groove to form a handle. I'm going to use the pecked stone tool for a pounding tool. I've tried willow and red osier dogwood and found that these plants break. Do the stems need to be heated before bending?

Hey, Steve. Try this link. This guy uses dogbane string and pine pitch. Yucca stem for the handle.
