    Default Gold Medal Baby!

I know you yanks don't understand and care about hockey, but as a Canadian it is as close to religion as I can get.

Most gold medals for a host country, most golds by any one nation in a single Winter Olympics.

I am a proud Canadian right now!

    Canada Rocks!

PS I hope they have beer in the locker room!

Congratulations truly but I think you're mistaken about Americans not getting hockey. I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit. So not only did I have the Red Wings to watch, we got CBC channel 9 out of Windsor. That means that many a night I was tuned in to Hockey Night In Canada. Don Cherry was fun to watch. I worked as a chef in a restaurant where the Wings and Jaques Dumears ate lunch at during trainiing. Then later Scotty Bowman ate there too.The first beer I ever bought myself at the age of 18 right before they raised the drinking age in Michigan was Molson Golden. Hockey is one of the most exciting sports to watch hands down. Just to prove my point if asked I can revele the meaning of a "deke."

You are right, some do. That is why the American Hockey team ended up in the Gold Medal Game against the Canadians.

Obama Bets Case Of Beer On U.S.-Canada Hockey Game
    Feb 28, 2010 9:52 pm US/Eastern

Something is brewing in U.S.-Canada relations. And it's on Olympic ice.

President Barack Obama bet a case of beer with the Canadian prime minister on the outcome of Sunday's U.S.-Canada gold medal game. After the U.S. men's team lost the match in overtime, it was not clear when and how Obama would follow up on his wager.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Obama had a case of Yuengling, a Pennsylvania regional brew, riding on the game. Prime Minister Stephen Harper wagered 24 bottles of Molson.

The beer battle pitted Canada's oldest brewery against the oldest beer maker in the United States. Molson Canada is now a subsidiary of Molson Coors Brewing Co., a marriage of Molson and Denver-based Coors

Congrats Red Lake. I am glad we only lost to Canada. You guys deserved winning the only gold that mattered.
