Thread: retirement plans

    Default retirement plans

What are your plans and wishes? For me , I'd like to take a little time and see some things then settle back and get in a groove. Like, have a garden, where I'd grow what was needed for the year. Perhaps a side business of mushrooms, metal working or making custom yard art. I've always liked the flowers in the toilet for a front yard ornament. Yep, you can always be ornery.

Time isn't stopping. What would you like to do?

I'd like to buy a Splinter Fleet WW2 110' sub chaser and convert it into a commercial SCUBA diving operation. Hire a crew and have a blast. Travel up and down the coasts to follow the good weather and best dive sites.

But, sounds like too much work.

I want to do hard manual labor, for long hours, seven days a week. Plus hike 5 miles per day. Feel like sh*t every morning when I get out of the sleeping bag to stoke the fire, and put on the coffee. Be sore and exhausted at the end of the day. I want to be fully used up when I die, with every joint warn out. Use-it or loose-it, retirement is for people who wasted their life working for money, not invested their life in living a dream.

When I am fully spawned-out I want to be Bragg's booze sampler.

I hope to do a bit of travel, I already am living in my retirement home, so one step done. Would love to drive out through Canada and back through the States. Dream trip for me.

It's a great trip Riverrat - I did it in the early 80's on a motorcycle. Included Mexico as well. There is so much of North America to be seen and explored. Do it when you can, you won't regret it.

We are hoping to head out next summer for part of it, have family out in western Canada that I have not seen in years, so may do that. Right now it is hard to get the time off for trips like that, but can always dream....

I want to be a member of the Viagra test team, and make low budget internet adult "entertainment" films with beautiful young college ladies, that people can pay $3.99 a month for, and see me and an ever changing cast of cuddly co-ed cohorts copulate.

And, then all you old farts can squint your eyes, and mumble at your monitor,

Like we'll be able to see the TV or even remember what's going on.

i'd like to re-vegetate a nice little parcel of land to share with my surrounding environment [as opposed to altering it for only my own use] in an area with a good water table, to garden, to cultivate and hunt edible mushrooms and build/design things as they strike my fancy. i'd like to fish as much as i can. mostly the sort of things i do now, but with the resources to do them and the wisdom to preserve them better.

    rebel: wild or cultivated mushrooms?
