Default Enjoying the weekend, while the world turns to crap.

I haven't had more than a couple minutes a weekend for WSF lately, and that probably won't change for some time.

Coming back and scanning, both the real topics and usual chronic/lunacy areas are a hoot.

Since it seems to be "peak demise" in people's opinions everywhere, I have been spending time making sure I enjoy "the now". I suggest you do the same.

Just in case you need inspiration, here are today's plans:

    Finished:
    Breakfast.
Quiz the kids in math and language.
Chill some Blue Moon, Sam Adams Summer Ale, and freeze some thick beermugs.
    Powerlounge.
Prepare grill with lump coals and clean grate.
Get grill to 650*F or +
Prepare grate by rubbing with bacon fat (so nothing sticks).

    In progress:
Grill a beef tenderloin over lump coals and oak.
    Make an over-flavored Bearnaise.
    Make a rich, home-made mayonnaise.
Let the kids burn up some energy outside playing and waterfighting.
    Let wifey relax inside.
    Resume Powerlounging when done.

    Still TODO:
Combine 2/3rds Bearnaise to 1/3rd Mayo. Keep warm.
Make Cuban bread into large slices of buttery garlic bread on grill, then add a bit of melted Feta on top.
    Clean grate.
    Grill assorted fruit (for dessert).

    Today's endgame:
Slather Cuban/Garlic/Cheese bread with Bearnaise/Mayo blend, insert thick slices of tenderloin.
    Pop a beer or 2.
Enjoy early supper (the "steak sammiches") and late dessert (grilled fruit with ice cream) with family.
    Get in some dry-fire practice.
Resume powerlounging with wife and kids until bedtime.

    Eventual endgame:
Try new dinner and desert recipes next time.
Saw off a chunk with the wifey.
    Keep the rest the same.
    Go to sleep.

Have family memories worth having if/when it all comes down.

    Be well all.

Hey chicken little, that was an acorn... lol... you'll be safe.
There is no greater solitude than that of the Tracker in the forest, unless perhaps it's that of the wolf in the wilderness.
