I was wondering if anyone packs caffeine pills when you are out and about? I keep a bottle in both my b.o.b. and my quick kit, which are in the car.

I am a cranky bear without it:

Sometime I need to be alert faster than brewing time, so I keep the pills on hand just in case. I was wondering, and forgot to ask was if there is a natural stimulant that can be found in the wild.

Early at the office this morning, ready to pour myself a cup and just took a whiff, put the coffee down and poured myself some water.

Here's some info on sources of caffeine. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Caffeine While camping or hiking I always have some whole beans to place in my mouth - don't know if it's giving me much, but it makes my brain happy. But then again, I'm the guy on the forum that drinks coffee out of a bowl.

One cup a day for me. I carry coffee bags so all I need is hot water and I'm good to go. Other than that, I don't/won't do the stimulant thing.

I've been accused of drinking a lot of coffee. Probably about 8 - 12 cups a day. I really have cut back since I retired from the Navy.

as much as i don't like to go far without having coffee on me, i also carry excedrin these days with my first aid kit. the acetamenophen helps the aches, and the caffein helps the pain of not having enough coffee. i wish somebody would make an expresso syrup with ibuprophen...

I read a story some time back that caffeine increases the effectiveness of pain relievers. I inherited migraines from my granny so the combo is a regular staple of mine. Here it is. Dated 1984:
