[Ole WV Coot]

Well we got a decent storm as predicted. Lots of folks don't have electricity in WV, VA & KY. WV turnpike has closed & many stranded. Since I'm posting this you know the ole man has a generator, chow and firewood in the garage. Everyone I have talked with(telephones are OK) no electricity are merely inconvenienced. Don't know about roads but had a friend over on his ATV this morning. Power estimate is Dec 27 so Christmas will be late for many. Looks like only inconvenience at the worst and for those prepared not even that. Moral of this is I am on the internet watching TV in a warm house with hot coffee and Ken's check list would have been welcome for a lot of folks.

The attack beagle will not be pleased to go outside I'm sure. He may force you to carry him out and back. But then a GOOD attack beagle, especially a WV attack beagle, is probably tough enough to handle a couple of feet of snow. Still, with those short legs and all.......

The place I work for had Santa in today to take pics with kids and pets,the very first pic was with a beagle,a very HEAVY beagle with a bladder problem,being Santa's helper,I had to lift that sucker up into Santa's lap,and he pi$$ed both of us...... I resigned as Santa's helper immediately,gggrrrrrrr.

Rick,I'm not Jessie,LOL,I was named after my grandmother because she delivered me on the way to the hospital,my youngest sister got the name Jessie.....

His belly is a little close to the ground but he manages. Don't have to worry about my water line Oly, it's 12' deep coming into the basement and because I dug it so deep I placed an extra and capped it just in case. All my lines inside are copper, wrapped anyway, blanket on the hot water heater, Buck insert inside the basement fireplace with a stainless liner, just in case and cleaned it last month. I have everything covered unless "Murphy" drops in. I have protection on everything just in case the generator goes wild. Furnace ducts in every room including storage. Cell & old rotary phones that back up the cordless. Wish everyone was prepared and maybe they will be next time. Still have people still stranded on the WV turnpike after over a day now. My only problem will be cabin fever, may get the ATV out and check on a few folks.
