Requesting Relevant Magazine recommendations, Homesteading, Small Farm, Back Woods, etc. any that you can think of. From this list I'll pick ten magazines, and do a poll to find the top choices. Thank you.

Hope - I don't subscribe to any magazines that fall into what you're looking for but have read through the first two that Poco listed a few times. The deserve to be on the list.

I used to get Backwoods Home magazine and really thoroughly enjoyed it. Now I'm a bit stingier and go to the local community college library where I can browse Foreign Affairs, which will make me think about Urban Hydroponics magazine, which makes me think about a DC voltage watering system that I might find in Popular Mechanics. I find I need multiple sources to be satisfied and even three diverse magazines seems to take me down a much narrower path of thinking than I can explore in my library. My library has hundreds of subs to journals and magazines that I'd never even think about buying, but certainly enjoy having easy access to.

It will be intersting to see what magazines come out of the woodwork on this thread.

The best one IMO was American Survival Guide. Although it's no longer in publication, the same folks have an online mag now.
Tactical Knives is great for the user end of finding a good knife that won't break the bank.

I agree, ASG was a very good magazine. And i've written for the online version. My favorites now would be Mother Earth News, Backwoods Home, Backwoodsman, Home Power, Solar Today, Popular Mechanics, and on line GizMag.

My interest now is more along the lines of Homestead/Farmstead or small remote farming. I never was interested in survival as a subject, or survival skills per'say. Being a "Outdoors Man", and such skills as are associated with it. I got a free magazine in the mail last week, and it felt like Christmas.
