Fish get in the boat!

I've heard something about asian carp in the Mississippi jumping out of the water at the sound of loud noises, like a motor or smacking the side of an aluminum boat. That's likely what it is. They're a non-native invasive species, so my guess is they're encouraging fisherman to keep as many as they can catch to help keep their population in check. That said, they're carp, which aren't exactly the best eatin' in the world.

Carp is actually pretty good eating and pretty easy to prepare. You can fillet them just like any other fish then remove the dark red line (some folks call it a mud line) from the meat. Once that is done you need to score the meat almost through the fillet about every 1/8 inch or so. You'll hear the tiny bone snap as you cut through it. You'll wind up with a very nice white flesh that you can fry into a nice meal.

Check the net. You'll find tons of recipes for carp. A lot of folks eat carp.

Um, no I was refering to some people I ah.. um..once heard about, yeah, thats it...
On a tributary into the Mississippi, catfish would float up in shock (no pun intended) but some would litterally just leap in the air out onto the banks to get away from the shock.
