    Default Figure 4 deadfalls

    I just caught my first squirell this past weekend using a figure 4 deadfall. I have read about these for years but never used one till now. I baited it with corn i ground up an put in a small pile. He was quite a flat little feller when i lifted the rock off him. He cooked up just fine,still hungry though lol..

    I normaly use snares to catch anything put a figure 4 deadfall i havent made one in ages

    how do you make one i have seen them but no directions on how to make them

    Just about any survival book will have deadfall and snare how to's.

    Deadfalls can work, however oftimes the animal escapes - sometimes injured. For this reason I too prefer a snare.

    I use a rat Trap. Drilled a hole in it so I can use a screw to anchor it to a tree for squirrels and a 10 inch nail threw the hole for chipmunks.

    It works very well.
