Default Potato mounds and cabbage packs

IT used to be that a man kept his potatos fresh by making a multi layered mound of moss and potatos. The thing about potatos is they grow. If you have potatos that have gotten limp and soft, dont throw them away!Just lay them on soil outside for a few days,(spray them with water if its very dry)and your potatos will sprout and turn solid again. why doesnt anybody use those technologies today? Tell us all how you do it.
