Survivorman Season 3!

Season 3

Season three is currently under production, Northern Canada, Sierra Nevada (U.S.), Papua New Guinea, Madagascar are some of the confirmed locations. According to Survivorman newsletter, the Sierra Nevada episode is completed with filming as of May 17, 2008. Les wrote in his web log that the Sierra Nevada episode is based upon a backpackers scenario, having to survive with only the few basic tools a backpacker presumably would carry; a tent, sleeping bag and a flashlight.

During a July 23rd appearance on The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, Les confirmed the Colorado Rockies as another location. For this episode, Les took the role of a horseback rider traveling through the mountains. He went on to say that fans of the show were asking for more domestic locations and scenarios this season, hence the reason for choosing Sierra Nevada and the Rockies.

IMO shows like this are dangerous. While some tips and tricks may be gleaned from them, many of the activities that take place are dangerous and may get somebody injured of killed.

Les is one of my favored survival shows. If I watch any it's usually him. He plays a mean harmonica!!

What is a Survivorman Thingie.....? I Don't own a TV, and would not want the biggest and best one made even for free. I have lots of GREAT books.

When I made my previous comment, for some reason I was thinking of Bear's show. Les does a much better job.

Hopeak - it's a show about a guy getting rich doing what you do every day.....except he's got a camera.

his old job was a musician, he sometimes has shows. Last one was a few months ago in Ontario.

I'm looking forward to it. If nothing else, he gets people curious and asking questions about survival, outdoorsmanship, bushcraft, livivng off the grid.
I am, however, glad that it comes with a safety disclaimer.

i'd like to think so, if not only because i actually like stroud, but i think it's likely to either remain the same as ever or possibly slack up a bit, in integrity of format and freshness as the vast bulk of shows do.

i even found ray mears latest, walkabout [a 4 part miniseries about some of his time in australia] to be less captivating that most of his previous work [with the exception of tracks, which gave him far less to work with]. it seems to be the decided way of entertainment media.

yup he plays with a band called the northern pikes he was here last december had a great time i am a fan of his show and his music

you should have your mouth washed out with bitter root how can you be so sedicious about the man ray mears is hands down the best there is was or will be(well at least next to me and hopeak) thats it canid your punishment is no morrels this spring

I love Survivorman, and I am liking this season... but so far I have not found it to be superior to (or even equal to) the previous seasons. I was disappointed by the episode where Les gets lost on purpose so SAR can have some practice drills.
