    Default Twisty Russia

With plenty of oil to fuel their economy, and more NatGas than any other jurisdiction, Russia may be the lone superpower some day soon:

    From Crisis to Baby Boom
Russia witnesses its highest birth rate in 25 years

In a few years, Americans will be begging to go and live in Russia.

But they will look down on you as a poor starving American refugee and say "Nyet".

Add in the former head of the KGB and a Master chess player to boot calling the shots, (Putin) whom would you bet on?

In the future the Golden Rule will be...He that has the gold and oil, makes the rules.

He never got over the disgrace of the Cold War...and for him, it is not over.

See? This is why we advanced from records to CDs. Records get stuck in the same place.

Well, sure. Yeah. That's because he has a rapier like wit. A super genius IQ and a vision the rest of us just don't have. (Traxistan? Need I say more?).

As I wrote on the Georgia/Russia conflict post, it was unbelieveable to see oil tank on the same day that Russia invaded Georgia. The pipeline that runs through Georgia provides 1 million barrels of oil a day to the west, which is a substantial supply. There were reports that Russia was targeting the pipeline in their bombing runs. This Russia Georgia conflict has many potentially dire outcomes. It may be that we may have seen the bottom of the correction in oil and other commodities on Monday. Hope I didn't miss the boat by not buying more silver..... (leaving for holidays)

For those who haven't read the history, in the 1930's Stalin opened up Russia to foreign investment and many US companies including GM and Ford invested heavily in the place, only to have it stolen under the banner of nationalisation a few years later. Basically the communist system had, as usual, eaten it's own seed corn and was desperate for an injection of capital. The cycle continues. The T34 tank (the best tank in WW2) was built in a GM tractor plant.

Putin was brought up in the communist system. He may be smart but he's no economist, that's for sure. I doubt he realises just how fragile a flower a market economy is. He's stomping around the market place in his size nine KGB boots scaring off investors by the thousand. Will any of his advisors have the balls to tell him the honest truth or will they be telling him what he wants to hear?

    Or on the other hand......

Putin drove out the Mafia, the Zionists, and the all the crooked Rothschild bankers. I suppose that could be interpreted as being anti business.
But Russia has thrived economically since these PARASITE SCUM were driven out.
Sure Putin is as tough as nails, he also threw out many of the corrupt politicians, and replaced them with his old KGB buddies. He was roundly criticized in the West for doing that too.
But it is a funny thing about Intelligence officers, and ex intelligence officers.
They tend to be fiercely loyal to their own country, tough, smart, honest and incorruptible. Organized crime stands no chance against a network of former intelligence officers.
He is a tough SOB all right, he has no time for the crooked slime.

But regardless, Russia is now economically thriving. It has an excellent balance of trade, and is rapidly stockpiling gold. Putin hopes to make Russia a major economic centre of the world, and he will likely succeed......

and vision? Well Rick, kinda makes me think of Tommy Lee Jones answer to the journalist at the end of Lonesome Dove.

"They say you're a man of vision."

    "Hellish visions"

I will not move to Russia, now or ever, I'd move north to Canada first really like the land up there. With Russia fighting or battling in georgia now they're trying to return to the past of the Soviet Union IMHO. DOn't trust them or the Chinese, or North Korean's or the... well a long list so I'll stop.

I trust, Canada, England, Scotland, Ireland, Wales, France, Austraila, Sweeden, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Japan, Iceland, Greenland, South America (just about everyone) Jamaica and those islands, Cyprus, Greece, the Italians, Spain, India (just like them don't know why), Norway, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Thailand, the Virgin Islands (Both British and U.S.) used to trust some of the African countries but since I keep getting emails saying I'm the heir to millions they just need my account info and SSN I'll resend trusting them until I collect my fortune... lol.. Yeah that's about it.
And of course the people of Free Traxistan!!!
