Survival Vehicle?

If I bought into the whole SHTF stuff I think I would turn off all the lights, close the blinds and wait till everyone has bugged out.

I have 3 4x4 Toyota's. Sequoia, T-l00 and a RAV-4. I also have 2 old Skidoo 440 snowmachines as well as an Arctic Cat 500 manual shift ATV. Oh, just remembered I also have a brand new Yamaha 450 grizzly. It belongs to someone else but if the SHTF, he is to far away to use it.

Maybe I shouldn't have said anything. He will be visiting in a couple of weeks and might decide to let someone else babysit it for him.

correct me if I am wrong but if you live in the city, and need to hunt for food in the country, wouldn't you have to worry about the two legged game wanting you and your food? Doesn't seem like a bike would afford to much protection from the bottom dwellers.

In a life and death struggle for survival, I don't think the location of other people would really matter. Whether you ran across "city people" or "country folk", if they had a desire to take your food or your life - the situation would be the same.

I keep coming back to the fact that if I'm injured (broken arm, etc.) I can still drive my truck. That would be pretty tough on a bike.

I guess that "survival vehicle" boils down to a few factors.
1. Where you are.
2. Where you are going.
3. (and maybe most importantly) What you have.

Like Klkak, I believe in Toyotas. I have an 04 4Runner V8 4wd pulling an 06 26ft Outback Travel Trailer and a 96 Tacoma 2.4 2wd pulling a utility trailer packed with 04 HD Roadster, genset, fuel, food, water, etc. Tacoma is already a "Bug Out Vehicle". It has a topper with a built-in bed, shelving, 110, 12volt, and propane lights, heat, A/C, etc. It works too, as I've already spent over 75 nights this year in it as I travel for work. Family knows the plan and what we need to do should "that day" ever come.

Know the HD isn't that practical, but until I get a couple dirt bikes for "scouting", it'll have to do.

By the way, this is my first post. I have lurked for a little while and you guys rock.

Yeah, I guess I'll do a "bland" intro of myself. I contract for the Government and some people look at Survivalists as weirdos or even anarchists. I'll post a clean version.
