Default Waiting for the Brown Truck...again

Once more I am relegated to a condition of sedentary existence while waiting for the "brown truck".

Last week I was attacked by a rash of ill conceived attempts to part me from my money in the form of "free shipping" offers from several of my favored sources.

Usually there is a large enough minimum cost involved to scare me away but this time they hit me with a "no minimum cost" offer, so now I sit waiting for a dozen packages of goods worth no more than $5 each to arrive in the most illogical and scattered manner conceivable to man.

Sportsman's Guide has split an order of three items to be shipped from three separate manufacturers. Optics Planet has broken a two piece set of front and rear sights into a two part order, and God only knows where the E-bay stuff is coming from.... I just got notice from Pay Pal that some of my U.S. dollars had been converted to Canadian and sent to Hong Kong!

I have been forced to make a check off list just to insure I am not charged twice and shipped once and everything that was part of a "set" actually arrives.

I have this vision of all my friends and family being gathered around a table with an urn containing my ashes and a photograph of me in my younger years, and the eulogy being interrupted by a guy in short pants and a parka carrying a small box and announcing that "someone needs to sign for this!".
If you didn't bring jerky what did I just eat?

    I hear ya......
Bored old guys with interweb and a CC can get into trouble very easy.....with leaving the recliner.
I even have one for Cabalas with a $500 buck limit....for sketchy web sites over seas....and have resisted the offers to increase the limit.

As I am just getting over the snow blower, and truck plug wire repair (the not so expensive option)....and our Ducks Unlimited Banquet coming up in 4 weeks....(lots of raffles and auctions) I have been trying to "lay low" right now....
    BUT
Gun show coming up next week end ....so will have to check that out.......

    AND
No one has come up with a new book to check out....I don't do Kindle.....although I have been thinking about Kephart's Camping and Woodcraft.

My UPS lady hates the ammo orders and log cabin sealer/stain 5 gal buckets.....Heavy....

I'm playing Russian roulette with Sears at the moment. I ordered a table lamp and they shipped the wrong one. Returned that one and the replacement was the wrong one. Just received the mailing label for the return and I'm waiting on the new one to arrive. I'm giving odds on whether this one with be correct or not.

I must say I know the drivers of the little brown treasure chest by first name as well as the fedex man as well as the subs. Having a small business I can remember a time I didn't have goods coming . Then again I'm on the end of both routes so if I really got to have it I know their routes as well as they do and just track them down.
