Quicksand!
I've been pretty luck to date and haven't run into quicksand while out in the woods. I have at work and we nearly lost a 70 vibrating plow. Only the fact that an oil truck with a winch happened by kept the unit from sinking into the sun set. We did loose a D7, cable reel and all, crossing a shallow river in Wisconsin. But I've not found it when out back packing. Here's an article about what to look for and what to do if you encounter it.
