I carry sewn slings of webbing and/or tied prusik loops at times for a lot of ourdoors activities that don't strictly require climbing, as well as plain lengths of webbing to build expedient anchors. I might think now about adding some sturdy toggles.
examples are canyoneering or mountaineering where a short bit of descent should be protected but don't justify a proper rappel, as when a fall might be serious but isn't likely to be life threatening in itself. I like this thread.
