    I was told that the 3 1/2" magnums have put a real dent in 10 gauge sales. I have a 3" 12 gauge. And a couple of 2 3/4".

But, I genuinely love watching folks in the cattail roots and mud trying to hit the high flyers with those 3 1/2" magnums.

I had this gun given me to check out and store.

According to my father-in-law this thing put it share of birds and rabbits down in Indiana in the 1950's and 1960's. The whole barrel slides back with the bolt assembly.

that's a nice shotgun. The supposed 10 ga wasn't really needed but I figured it would have been fun to work with.
so the definition of a criminal is someone who breaks the law and you want me to believe that somehow more laws make less criminals?

Is that a Belgium made Browning? I had one of those when I was a pup. Traded someone for a Remington 1100. Wish I still had the Frenchy but was happy with the deal at the time. Still have the 1100. Hey, wait a minute. Maybe that's mine!

Yeah, Rick it's a Browning made by Fabrique Nationale. If I remember my father-in-law said he bought it new in the 1950's.

I had a Marlin 10 gage, 3 shot bolt action I used for duck and goose hunting. It weighed in at 11 lbs and had a 34' barrel. It took valuable time to real it up out of the blind to take a shot. I killed more ducks with a 2 3/4 12 gage than I did with the 10 gage. I found a slightly used 12 gage Winchester Super X2 in a gun shop. It shoots 3 1/2, 3", or 2 3/4" shells. Great shotgun with composite stock and real light weight and semi-automatic. Very comfortable to shoot because the semi-auto cushions out most of the recoil.

Decided to put the shotguns I didn't use anymore up for sale to pay for the Winchester X2. That was an experience. I must have sold them to cheap because all the guns sold for my asking price. Also included a couple of old 32 cal. revolvers and an old Hopkin & Allen 38 special. Sold all three for $100. I told some I guy I hoped the guns didn't blow up when fired but he couldn't dig out $100 fast enough.

This was back in 2004 when the gun market was different than now.
    Jim
