    I put a loop of paracord through the trigger guard and around one of the bars on the canoe. Basically like a safety belt in case it tips.

    I did the same thing with my weapons and ammo. Unfortunately and unbeknownst to me at the time the whole gaggle of weapons and ammo weighed 551 pounds. The line snapped and the rest is history. We know that even certified paracord will only hold 550 pounds. At least that's the story for ATF.
