    Hunter is correct.

    Shelter comes first.

Water is next and since you are up at the lake in Alaska that is covered.

Since the subject went into the woods with no knife, no fire gear, and no brain he can now begin making tools of stone, wood and bone for the construction of the town of Dumba$$.

"lets' say", "what if", and "it could happen", closely followed by "you don't really believe that they....." ??? We can run in circles over those for eternity.

My suggestion to the unknowing asking questions with those phrases at the beginning is the same as my advice to new cartridge reloaders,

    BUY A BOOK

Not the SAS Survival Guide, or the U.S. Army Survival Guide, or even the fantastic survival information supplied to your own Swedish Army used during the excellent training they give, which would be much more appropriate and realistic for your own area, unless you are really a 12 year old kid in New Jersey and not in Sweden as you claim.

I would suggest My Side of the Mountain, or possibly Hatchet they are great fantasy reads about the improbable accomplishing the impossible in every "what if" situation one can imagine. You will find them in the library under the children's fiction section.

LOL, I would say you couldn't be more wrong........but then again if you are 12,... 17 seems old.
BTW profanity is no sign of intelligence....even the computer knows that.

So "Just say, I wanted to go to Mars, what would I need"?....would that question make any sense to you?

    JUST SAYING.

Ok, Im starting to see your way of thinking. My question was pretty bad in that matter.
So Im gonna back on this one.

As for me being a bit "odd" it may be because I've got ADD and atypical autism and never got help dealing with it until just a year ago. And I am 24.

I once saw a Marine Corps Drill Instructor cure a half platoon of men of those exact same conditions, in less than a week!

That was back in the 1960s before recruits were allowed to write their congressmen while in boot camp.

You are alowed to make use of your clothes.
I would search for a stocked trapper's cabin, of which there are many in AK. Actually, this scenario is not that far fetched. In John McPhee's book, "Coming into the Country", he wrote about an actual incident from the 1940's where a bomber crew doing cold weather flight testing had to ditch their plane in the interior of Alaska near the Yukon river in mid winter. Only one of the crew survived. On his first day, he found a fully stocked trapper's cabin and sat out the winter. I'm pretty sure that he just had the clothes on his back and very little survival training. In late winter he walked out along the river and was found by a local trapper that saved the guy. I guess it just wasn't "his time".

Hate to beat a dead horse, but...

Ok this isn't a small lake but a small river in Alaska. It is summer so about 60 above zero. In the winter, it's 60 below zero. If you notice, there are no trees. So if for some strange reason you are out here with only a 2" blade...well that wouldn't ever happen. So let's say that your small plane went down on the tundra of the North Slope. It happens pretty regularly. You may only have a small knife in your pocket but you have the whole plane wreckage to scavenge from. Your biggest problem is dealing with any injuries you may have sustained in the wreck and mosquitos. All our aircraft, even tiny ones, have first aid kits. Most of them also have bug dope. But if you have no bug dope, you better hope you have long sleeves and at least a hat or can scavenge or make one from seat cushions or something because the mosquitoes are the main danger you will have.

Here's the amount of mosquitos that got inside our plane just from having the door open long enough for us to get in.
