This has been bandied about for some time and I was glad to see it come to fruition. Frankly, it makes no sense to me why the U.S. should ensure money deposited in a foreign country. We might as well insure farmers in Spain and provide flood insurance for folks in Panama. The US has to pull the reigns in on outstanding liability and this is a good one to stop.
