The Pantry

TDW dragged me to the LDS(Mormon) pantry today. We packed 9 cans of rolled oats and 9 cans of instant taters.

For under $45 we restocked the pantry with some of the basics. 20 lbs of taters and 20 lbs of rolled oats. Now for about $2.50 a can we have food ready to store, that will be good for 10 years. We do use these cans when we go camping for over a week at a time. Rotate the stocks.

If you have a LDS(Mormon) pantry in your area, you would be a fool not to use it. You can even for a slight fee, can foods you bring in(Check with them). You do not have to be Mormon to use it.

We picked up 25 lbs of Basmati Rice yesterday and have it in a food grade bucket with a screw top, sealed lid (Gama lid). Next month, we will be doing 25lbs of Basmati Rice and putting it in cans.

The 100lbs of fresh taters at $.15 a pound, seemed to complete this months food excess spending.

Next month TDW wants to get 50 lbs of refries put in # 10 cans and 50 lbs of Navy beans.

Don will be eating good this month. And if need be, eating for some time to come.
