My prayers go out to her family,i worry about my 82 year old father that lives 60 miles away and try to contact him during bad weather,he still burns wood and a full pantry.

Well, that storm just plain sucked.
I just got internet/phones back a couple hours ago.
    Still no TV cable.
Power went out Saturday night and didn't get that back until real early Tuesday morning.
Propane generator worked like a champ. Did a refill on the tanks yesterday. The propane company had miscalculated. I asked for a tank good for 5 days. Didn't hardly put a dent in one tank after 3. Sweet. It is so cool not to have to go out and get gasoline.

I'm glad you had the genny and everything worked out for you. We sure do miss our conveniences when we don't have them. We're actually forced to talk to each other.

+40 hours with no electricity or phones.

    "What are you looking at?"
    "Nothing."
"Did you just call me nothing."
"I just called you the worst commercial on TV."
"I'd settle for that at the moment.

I didn't mention the 4 large trees that dropped all their branches. Leaves were still on the trees when the snow fell.
    They're just big sticks now.
The one that hit the roof took out all the wires. No major roof damage.
I've built a wall of brush out along the street. Maybe it'll keep the snow out.
While you joke about the 'talk to each other' thing, because it was warm, I met and talked with more of my neighbors than I have in the past 10 years here. Most stopped cuz my yard looked like we'd been bombed compared to most on the street. Some were discussing plans for a neighborhood BBQ if they started losing their freezer stuff. Didn't come to that.

Tis November in the High Rockies of Colorado. Praying for snow is a daily routine. Winter is wunderbar!
