As for me I firmly believe my emotions are my own and my responsibility. You can't make me mad I can only allow myself to become mad. Now, couple that thought with the thought that if you have a problem with another man then you need to look inside yourself for the answer. If you call me an idiot, it isn't the name calling that makes me angry, it's my own thoughts about you calling me the name. I've been using these two thoughts for so long I rarely get mad at anyone over anything. I still mess up from time to time but it doesn't take me nearly as long to calm down as it did when I was say 20. I think the force is with me. Either that or it's just gas.

But the forum rules are the rules and this is one of the few forums around where you won't get beat down with vulgarities because you ask what's the best survival knife.

Well, I suppose I missed all the name calling, but I am sad to see OGL go. He was one member whose posts I enjoyed reading, he provided a lot of positive insight and real world stuff.

I hate to see you go OGL.

There really is a heightnened sense of immaturity that I believe stems from this forums moderators as a whole, not saying one in particular, but there ceratinly is a root cause to the problem. I come back here daily or at least weekly to see what's going on, and it's the same ole same ole. I always hope to come back and see a change for the better, but that day has not came. I thought it came a couple times before, but was quickly re-assured that the nonsense will prevail and good forum members will be driven away by ignorance and childish behavior.

As I've said before, that's unfortunate.

...maybe one day the stars will align, the waters will part, the sea will run red with blood, hell will freeze over, and a person who actually provides useful info and good adult converstation will cozy up and make this place home.

I think it's more of a case of some things not being appropriate in certain situations. This is a public place, with women, children, liberals, etc.

If you and SD wanted to have a farting contest while you two are sitting around a camp fire, 200 miles from the nearest road....that's kinda funny......in a church, not so much. Ok, wait...that would be kinda funny, but it wouldn't be appropriate! LOL

Do you get what I'm saying? It's like...I'd call Ken names, that I wouldn't even think about calling B, or Winnie. LOL

That's how I think as well, Rick. I don't get mad too often; mildly annoyed at most, but hardly mad. Same with Mr. B--we're both very even tempered and it would take a lot to get us all bent out of shape. The worst we ever do is assume a tone which only we recognize as such. (Kinda like a sound that only pests hear and no one else.)

It surprises me though, that self restraint doesn't come a little easier to people who carry firearms which is all about self restraint and good judgement.

And let's not forget that the Mods often PM members about offending posts before they reach for the ban button. I suspect that some of the replies they get are so out-of-line that they're cause for banning all by themselves. Probably cause for a slap on the back of the head as well. Just sayin'.
