I got married last month and took the new family to Tombstone, AZ and the Pima Air and Space Museum for vacation. Thought I would post some pictures from the trip.

What a trip. I visited Tombstone in the early 80's; what an historic place. Did you say hello to the Earps and Clantons? Also, do they still do the gunfight show?

Wow,, They did a good job of getting the real location right,, it happened a ways from the entrance to the corral..

Despite its name, the gunfight began in a 15–20 feet (4.6–6.1 m) wide empty lot or alley on Fremont Street, between C. S. Fly's lodging house and photographic studio and the MacDonald assay house. The lot was six doors east of an alleyway that served as the O.K. Corral's rear entrance. The two opposing parties were initially only about 6 feet (1.8 m) apart. About thirty shots were fired in thirty seconds. Ike Clanton and Billy Claiborne ran from the fight, unharmed. Frank and Tom McLaury and Billy Clanton were killed; Morgan Earp, Virgil Earp, and Doc Holliday were wounded and survived.

Yeah, the show is only 10' from the actual spot. Where I am getting my picture done is next to C.S. Fly's boarding house, just outside the show.

The ones killed were buried in the Boothill Cemetery

We were in Phoenix a couple years back and they had a gun fight show thingie there. One of the cowboys was pretty handy twirling a six shooter. A couple of young ladies came up to him after the show and he proceeded to give them a demo one on one, so to speak. About half way through his demo he dropped the firearm and it discharged. The lovely young ladies skeedaddled post haste. "It's just blanks," he called after them. But they didn't return.
