Looked a long time, searched my soul, and asked around...
Hello all. My name is Alex. I am currently working as a mechanic in florida, recently moved from south carolina. Since I first lived in michigan when I was 5, I knew I loved the northern woods. No matter how far or low I got in life over the last 17 years, i always loved the woods. Weeks on end with just a friend, camping on a river, fishing, hunting, gathering fire wood, making a home, not just camp.
I was set to leave for the north woods of canada with my best friend drew in may of this year. Unfortunatly, he was killed in an accident in late april. So, I moved in with my aunt in florida to take some time. After some long thought, I decided I had to continue. He would not have wanted some accident to stop a dream I have, a goal, my life.
So here I am. An hour and a half from going to work until nine p.m. I like work, but I love the woods. I am not lazy, stupid, or crazy. I am just starting my dream with the hopes that I can find another who is just as sincere. I have prepared myself mentally and have started the physical training a month ago. The ideal time to leave for the area I am aiming is in spring, due to training and preparation and research, I am able to leave as late as late august, early september. I would like to find a partner. A friend. Someone who wont turn tail the first time a hunt does not produce meat. A person that wont rush and will take their time to ensure a good whatever. When you rush, accidents happend. Accidents 300 miles from anyone, are not good.
I have read alot of forums about people wanting to go because of gas prices or because their girlfriend left them. In order to be free, truely free. One has to make sacrafices in order to reap the rewards worth a life time. PLEASE, if you read this and feel the same deep call to the woods as I do. Email me at [email protected].
