Good morning Rick, I see you received my posting on the monocular. I hope it becomes a useful tool in your tool box of outdoor gear. I hold mine with my fingertips and cup that hand to my head to stabilize it. I take it with me on most occasions unless I need a full size binocular. Let us know what you think when you receive yours.

    Cool Got one...

I've got a monocular, but hardly ever use it. The compact bino's work just fine and don't take up much room. They're also pretty light weight!

As small as that thing is, it looks like I could carry it around my neck on my RR survival necklace. (yuck, yuck, yuck).

Hey PGV...The monocular arrived today and boy is it sweet. I never knew something so small could provide such clear vision. It views as far and clear as my Bushnells or my Nikon's. By the way, did you know that rascal fits inside a 35mm film can? Thanks for the lead on those and the link!!

Default Been thinking that for a while... lol...

Ahhh, I was thinking the same thing too, lol... Sarge is like MacGyver only carrying everything on his belt or in his gigantic pack... lol... I'm heading to his place if TSHTF and don't need to bring a thing. No wonder he travels in an RV but where does the family sit amongst all his gear.
Ranger Rick could sell the SARGE SURVIVAL RV!!!!

There is no greater solitude than that of the Tracker in the forest, unless perhaps it's that of the wolf in the wilderness.

I'm happy to hear you like the monocular, I'm sure you will find many uses for it. Did you ever get any of the towels we spoke of? Have a great day!!!

PGV - They came about an hour ago. Played with one for a bit. One more addition to my little wagon load of gear. I took the little plastic tube that M&Ms come in (see: http://www.candywarehouse.com/megatubes.html ) and put some of the towels in there. The small tube holds 7 and the large tube holds 12. I threw the tube that came with the towels in my backpack, I'll give one to my son and toss one in the car for grandkid clean ups. these things are handy in the car as well as the bush.

Sarge - Don't mind them. they don't know how to accessorize. They have no fashion sense. My fleece is color coordinated to match my tangerine lip gloss (you know how I hate chapped lips, you silly).

I hardly ever take them along. We also have a small pair but it's not much of an improvement over normal eyesight :-)
