The same was true with our parents and grandparents. But we are transplants and all our family is scattered to the four corners of the earth, none of them in NY or even any neighboring states.
People who stayed put where they grew up have a big advantage of a wide support group. YCC & Erratus Animus come to mind. No such luck here.
That was never an issue for us before our new awareness set in. Manhattan was perfect for what we've come her to accomplish until things happen to make us recalibrate our strategy.
