Stocking Up On Prescription Meds

It was a revelation.

After that I hardballed them on everything and am now on all generic meds at $10/90 day supply. I get generic topral at that price too.

Apparently is works, I'm still alive.

I hear you, kinda the same deal same deal.
I didn't have any attacks, but had just went in for a "Check up", as I was 50 and a smoker.
Plant closing down so thought I would use my insurance before it ran out, and was in surgery 2 days later.

One year later, Dr, "just wanted to check it out", again.

After a non insurance ( I paid for it) "Check Up" balloon bla bla,(second one) I was scheduled for "Therapy"

Was told how important it was, so showed up first session with my check book.
When asked for my insurance card, told them I didn't happen to have insurance, and inquired "How Much?"

They said $1300 bucks, so I started to write a check, and she says "No, it's $1300 a day, 3 days a week for 8 weeks".

I said I can't afford that, so what am I supposed to do?
She says "Well, maybe take some long walks".

Dr's have to come from a list, and have tried several, all came with a requirement that another "Physical, blood work, tests" before being seen, and of course, no meds till seen, and can't get you in for the normal 6 months.

As far as being sick, seeing your DR. is close to impossible, unless you want to wait a month or so.... and they do suggest you "Go to the Emergency Room if you have a problem."

Having a Dr. that speaks English would be helpful..........

But have no fear, National Health Care coming soon.

I assume your reference to a Dr. here is a cardiac specialist? If so, talk to your regular PCP. Explain what your running into and ask for his advice.

Most states have free health clinics. Not all but most. If you don't have health insurance then see what your state has to offer.

The days of the family doctor are almost over. The days when a doctor could do a general specialization and do almost everything are almost over.

Doctors are almost too specialized. It's both a blessing and a curse, but when you go to a doctor to get your shoulder worked on and have the same issue with the other shoulder and the doctor says, "Sorry I only specialize in right shoulders" you know you have a problem.

I have been blessed to have good health and teeth and I hope I am able to keep it up. Good Lord knows I couldn't afford to have my health fail me right now.
