I will state this that I felt unworthy of your gift; but I am truly grateful for it. I was able to get some gear that was missing from my kit. I had it all on a "When I have a regular income I'll get it." list.
I got a Cold Steel Bushman as I've wanted to test one for a long time. I have a hard time justifying buying knives as I have a good amount already. I want you to know that I really mean it when I say this, "Thank you all so very much."

This is a review of the Bushman so far. I want you to know I'm still grateful.
Well on first blush I have to say the Bushman is not up to snuff I am used to from Cold Steel products. The factory sharpening is the worst I've seen on a CS knife, wavy and inconsistent. I like the pocket on the sheath but that is all I like. It is klunky and the belt loop is the most rudimentary and I don't like the way it rides on the belt. A swivel loop like on a Finnish Luela would be leaps and bounds better. I know this is an inexpensive knife but I have other low end knives from Cold Steel that are much higher quality than this. The knife does look tough But the tube handle isn't my cup of tea for hand comfort. I will either send it back to Safe Zone or I'll have to modify it tremendously. Now for thye good points, It will definately fit the big knife yet smaller than a machete niche. I looks like it would be a fine skinning knife for big game. It has enough belly in its profile to both chop and slash well. It appears to be beefy enough to use in baton splitting wood. If you are limited to a knife in your personal defense needs you could do a lot worse than this Bushman. Maybe it will grow on me.
