I ran into a weird deal today and thought I'd share it. I use Norton Anti-Virus on my computers and I've been getting a notice from Norton that my license is going to expire in December. So I renewed it today via one of their links, paid for it and got it all set up on two machines. I just happened to go out to their web store and the dang stuff was $20 less than they charged me. Sooooo, I called their tec support line and chatted with them. No problem, they told me. They would extend my license out an addition 7 months. As it turned out they actually extended it a full year but I'm thinking how many folks just renew and don't go to their store and see the price? How many other software upgrades operate the same way?
Now, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt. They are a big company with a huge web site so I can certainly see how they might miss quote a price on a page and they did stand behind the lower price when I brought it to their attention. Still, $20 a head is a pretty good chunk of change.
I guess, my point to this whole thing is make certain you check the price when renewing software. Know what you are buying.
