I tye flies and fly fish. Tough fly fishing and tying for a time. I have use this skill a few times, to get dinner when foods were running low, out in the wilds of surburbia.

We survive every day of our lives. How we choose to survive is up to us!

We all survive on a daily basis. The biggest threat to us is. . .ourselves! Whether we're smokers, drinkers, over-eaters, couch potatoes, etc. We're our own worst enemy! High-blood pressure, anxiety, stress, marriage, kids, work, etc. Every day we hear about some new disease or cancer (I know it's a disease too.) We stress about money, bills, meeting deadlines, and the biggest one I don't get, worrying about what others think of us?!

Aside from that, we all strive to "survive" in our daily lives. Back when I watched TV, the news was constantly reporting about another missing person, murdered spouse, pedophile, bank robbery, high speed car chase. . .I could go on, but I digress.

I live deep in the woods. I come out only twice a year. Once at the holidays (to see my family) and to re-stock my supplies in the summer. I can feel immediately the stress and pressure, albeit self-inflicted, of being around crowds of people. I HATE IT!! While I do enjoy chatting and conversing with the types of people here on the forums, I prefer my tranquil, solitary lifestyle.

I don't worry about "what ifs", "maybes", or "could happen", I live for the here and the now! I rid myself of all the debt, and un-necessary necessities of the modern life and became much happier living with only what I "truly" need to live happy and healthy for as long as I can.

IMHO, the basics can and will set you free, and you will feel much better in the long run.
