    Have any of you ever gone and put up your ear to a treetrunk when it's windy? It's a really cool thing to do. Close your eyes, lean into the tree and listen for a couple minutes. Deciduous trees are best, IMO.

    Yes I have. I've done it with a stethascope too listening for wood borers.

    I actually listen to trees a lot, in all kinds of weather. They can tell you a lot if you're paying attention.
