I wonder if Rebel Chick got a wolf or two and if so, how'd it work out?

I was kinda wondering the same thing.........Why would anyone want to take that on, anyway?.....even if I was legal?(don't know if it is or not,...and don't really care)

Sadly may aggressive breed dogs meet their demise because well meaning(?) people decide to take on the responsibility for an animal they can't control or keep.

If Rebel chick is still around... OR even if not. Back when me and my Ex were together, back in the late 90's we did have a couple of wolves. Full blooded breeder pair as well as 40% to 80% breeders. We loved them and bred and sold pups all of which were less that 1/2 wolf. Having them (pure) was very expensive to keep $300 a year per animal over 60% permit fees. I did not then and I do not now reccomend them as house pets. They need plenty of room to move around, a strong hand to take "dominance" they are a full time commitment and not something you get because of the cool factor. Wolves are extremely smart animals and will try to get over on you at times. I 100% advise NOT adding a wolf to a group of other pets. It is unlikely you'd get the "pack" your looking for. As far as hunting not likely, while they may have the natural "instinct" they won't have the skills taught by their parents and pack. So forget that nice deer or elk. They'd likely hunt something you don't want hunted. Even though we took the best precutions possible two of ours escaped and killed several of the neighbors show rabbits and cost our insurance over $5,000. My wife now and I have a 1/2 wolf mix that is a great animal but not a dog I'd want as a hunting animal.

I agree with winnie, get yourself a wippet or a greyhound instead. They're smart loving animals ( we have a part greyhound rescue dog) they'd make better hunter/survival animals plus less legal hassel, licenseing and a lot less chance of insurance issues/costs as many insurance companies won't cover a wolf in the home.
If by what I have learned over the years, allow me to help one person to start to prepare. If all the mistakes I have made, let me give one person the wisdom that allows them to save their life or the life of a loved one in an emergency. Then I will truly know that all the work I have done will have been worth every minute.

Heh. Love huskies. I just got back from a visit with friends, including two huskys. I'd get down in the floor and wrestle with one of them and she'd start howling this tenor howl and I'd start howling with her - we had a blast. There's this other husky/wolf mix in a group I visit occasionally that thinks he has a trademark on howls. He started "wooing" in my face one time and I "wooed" back and he got offended and snapped at me, then he looked around like, "I didn't do that. That was someone else." It was hilarious. Of course, the fact that he could bite through the thigh bone of a moose gave me pause.
True enough, my final home is still out there, but this is most certainly my home range and I love it. I love every rock I fall off and tree I trip over. Even when I am close to dying from exhaustion, a beautiful sunset doesn't lose it's power to refresh and inspire me and that, in itself, is enough to save me sometimes.

My husky does this crazy dance when she wants sometime.
She'll back up and swing her head side to side and bark at us.Then just stare right in your eyes, then do it again.
It mostly happens when she thinks a walk is due.lol
    They have quite the personality.

They had a cow on their front porch?
