    Default Survival Neck Wallet

Some folks may want to check this new product out, http://www.topsknives.com/product_in...a0560361f374e4. It has a collection of the basic gear that a person would need to get started. I will let you check it out for yourself.
Take only what you need, and leave the rest.

While it looks interesting, I'm not big on wearing things around my neck. They must be proud of it, looking at the price though.

I have a phobia about things hanging around my neck. Especially if they won't easily break free. If anyone wants to do something like that I would suggest you acquire your own gear. A couple of the items I would upgrade right off the bat and I'm not too keen about an open razor blade inside my gear. They make a number of closed razors similar to that saw that would work well. Just my .02.

That is a great site. They sell machete like knives for 199. That is only 180 more than I can get one at Canadian Tire for.

the set looks ok, though seemingly geared for NY city with the strap cutter and the bi metal hacksaw blade,

I don't like things around my neck either(old family phobia about rope). I wear leather hats, besides covering up where hair once was I have a nice loop of mono line and a few hooks around the sweat band plus a few other goodies(use your imagination ). I order them directly from Australia, much less even with postage. I don't add extra weight and I personally think any commercial survival kit would not cover your area. I don't need gear for jungle or desert, just for the Appalachian hills. With that in mind I can easily take more of what I need.

First: Are you going to share your site in Australia?

Second: Be careful about how much you take off, please. I might be permanently scarred by the event and turn into a serial gun owner or some other heinous thing.

I won't take off much, passed the loincloth stage 30yrs ago. Google Jacaru Australian hats and find the best price and Minnentonka in the good ole US makes a great leather fold-up hat. I went to one after I retired, head got sunburned and the brim is nice because I always wore a linesman's hard hat with the brim, keeps the water out of your collar plus with the well trimmed grey beard the younger ladies love that look but you have to start with something good.
