    Default Rattlesnake

    Saw my first Rattlesnake today, DOR so I stopped and picked it up, About 2 feet In very good shape so I skined it out, Will use it on a project here pretty soon

    I have eaten Rattlesnake several times, But not this one, And there ok if there big. The small ones are alot of work just to eat, But it is meat.

    We get swamp rattlers up this way. I don't mess with them. I look forward to seeing the sheath or whatever you make out of the skin.

    It's the start of mating season. You'll be seeing lots more in your neck of the woods RWB.
    I'm guessing the one you got was an eastern diamondback?

    we have timber rattlers a few miles from me(4),starting the 1st of April,til the 1st of Oct. there's no tresspassing of the state land because we can't disturb the snakes.
    I have several rattles and skins, they were all dead when i found them because it's against the law to kill them.

    D.O.R. snakes are the best kind, I don't like snakes.

    Ah, come on. You know how many mice would be running around if it weren't for snakes? That's why snakes are long and skinny. You can fill them up with mice just like poking them in a tube.

    We don't have those here. Asked my nephews in OK to get me some. They filled the freezer. When my sis-in-law went to get something out of the freezer - she about had a heart attack.

    Wanted a rattler for a hat band, but it looked so nice just tacked up - think I'll leave it that way.

    we don't see the snakes like years ago, i think the abundance of turkeys are taking their toll
